On Imitation game, the Finnish ensemble Barlast puts computer scientist Alan Turing’s famous test into the context of folk music and tradition. With the help of machine learning algorithms, Barlast reproduced folk singer Amanda Kauranne’s voice in different ways and blended these artificial voices with traditionally performed instruments and voice.
